High Resolution Change Detection (HRCD) data available for VSP programs

The High Resolution Change Detection (HRCD) is a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife database for monitoring land cover change in Washington State. HRCD uses 1-meter high resolution imagery to analyze landcover changes resulting from tree canopy loss and impervious surfaces (i.e., roads and buildings). WDFW receives funding from the State Conservation Commission to provide HRCD services to VSP counties. The HRCD program can assist VSP counties with quantifying landcover changes within critical areas as well as other VSP monitoring, implementation, reporting, and adaptive management needs. The HRCD change detection data includes information on tree loss and new impervious surfaces and the land cover data includes information on modeled land use and vegetation classifications (e.g., trees, shrubs, herbaceous, and surface water). WDFW staff are available to assist VSP counties with using the data to support their program needs.
